GPS-based fleet software developed to support logging and compliance for operators and drivers. Platform included a mobile app for in-field use and a desktop dashboard for dispatch and admin functions. Core functionality covered trip logging, real-time location tracking, tax reporting (IFTA, IRP), expense capture and digital document workflows. The product was introduced in beta and transitioned to a paid model during the engagement. The work began during MVP development and continued through the Series A investor pitch. The project operated under strict budget constraints common to early-stage SaaS. Engineering owned internal feature builds and all external-facing systems were owned and executed independently.
A complete brand identity system was developed in parallel with the early product. This included iconography, typography, interface styling and consistent application across mobile, desktop and outbound-facing assets. Positioning focused on reliability, audit readiness and reduced operational friction for both decision-makers and end users.
UI systems were defined for both native mobile and responsive desktop surfaces. Design architecture addressed logbook entries, HOS status logging, fuel and mileage tracking, image and receipt uploads, message alerts, compliance recordkeeping and analytical dashboard. All interface patterns were designed for low training thresholds and consistent deployment across fleet environments with varied technical baselines. Workflow logic was structured to minimize reliance on live support and simplify compliance interactions at the point of use.
A multi-step onboarding model was developed to handle driver–unit relationships, structured to accommodate both single-operator and dispatcher-assigned fleets. Strategy was informed by live customer and support calls. Input was evenly split between founder priorities and direct user friction. Driver onboarding flow was treated as the primary point of retention influence and refined to minimize setup errors and early abandonment. System documentation was produced in parallel to support internal QA, external rollout and customer service handling. Field feedback informed revisions to onboarding language, flow structure and resolution paths for setup failures, including blocked unit pairing and authorization timeouts. Customer service templates were authored to improve response consistency and remove ambiguity across known technical issues.
Product design work was paired with go-to-market infrastructure and commercial readiness planning. GTM strategy focused on acquisition of fleet operators through enterprise procurement pathways with support flows and app experience tuned to meet retention requirements on the driver side. Deliverables included pitch decks, promotional collateral, app store assets, a web presence and social content for early outreach. Printed collateral supported early investor and fleet procurement conversations.
Marketing development covered both execution and function-building: asset libraries, rollout sequences, update cycles and collaboration models for in-house continuation. Creative assets were updated through product milestones to reflect technical progress, positioning refinements and evolving customer expectations.
Paid media channels were scoped for future use, with initial emphasis on owned assets and low-cost social activation. Acquisition messaging was grounded in user behavior observed during live support and sales sessions. This foundation supported the broader demand generation effort, which combined direct sales activity, channel-specific messaging and modular materials suited to extended decision cycles.
The engagement concluded as the company moved toward in-house development.
